Now more than ever, staffing firms are seeking better, more powerful ways to communicate with talent and clients. Here at Sense, we are constantly measuring and reviewing data to determine which modes of communication are most likely to be read and even more importantly -- to receive a response.
We’ve been talking about texting for recruiters here on the Sense blog for awhile now. As we look for ways to not only improve communications with talent, but especially to improve responses and results, texting has quickly emerged as one of -- if not the most -- powerful ways to do just that.
Implementation and adoption of the Sense
System of Engagement during a time of rapid change
Communication and engagement:
old school style
The Aequor Healthcare Services and TherapyStaff brands have been in
business for over 20 years, and they’ll proudly tell you, for most of those
20 years, they did business ‘old school style.’ The business was built on a
physical file system, an effective model that served the company for over
two decades even through massive, 3x growth in the last few years. It was
a reliable strategy until the team realized how much further ahead other
staffing firms were with technology and knew they needed to catch up.
After realizing how much opportunity was ahead of them, the team made it
their mission to fill at least three critical gaps with technology in the first
quarter of 2020 alone. Having implemented Bullhorn the year prior, it
came time to select key solutions that made their teams work smarter,
deliver better experiences, and accelerate hiring. When it came to their
current approach to talent outreach, Aequor Healthcare Services knew
then that they needed to get serious about prioritizing communication and
“We had a lot of problems. We did a lot of mass communication, emails,
and things like that in the past and we just couldn't get results. We would
be flagged a lot,” says Klabo. “We weren't working with companies or
technology to monitor our delivery or success.” On top of delivery issues,
the messages that did make it to candidates weren’t personalized or
compelling, and recruiters didn’t have an easy way to get in touch at scale
aside from individual emails or single text messages.
Making Your ATS Work For You
In the blink of an eye we went from a candidate driven market to an employer driven market. Many staffing firms feel the pressure of being forced to "do more with less" - whether it's reduced headcount from furloughs, strapped budgets, and increased demand from candidates. Plus a labor market in flux, shifting demand from industries -- it's a lot to take in. Firms need to keep costs low, drive placements, maintain productivity, invest in new client development, maintain business agility, and still keep that high quality engagement across the candidate lifecycle.
The talent-centric staffing model
Candidate-centric experiences have been at PrideStaff’s core since its inception in 1978. With over 80 franchise offices across North America, local offices set out to deliver tailored experiences to every candidate they work with. Consistently recognized as one of staffing’s top firms, ranking in the top 1% of staffing firms and serving over 5,000 clients a year, PrideStaff has been laser-focused on building a strong brand across their network. And it didn’t just happen overnight - careful planning and a commitment to excellence are integral to PrideStaff’s success. The PrideStaff team knows that to build a lasting culture and brand, it takes the combination of processes, technology, behaviors, and beliefs.
PrideStaff saw the need and importance of staying in touch with candidates and contractors early on to distinguish itself from the market. “There’s real importance in customer experience, and to become a memorable brand it's all about the experience and about the culture,” says Tammi Heaton, Co-CEO of PrideStaff. “It really is, and it's a foundation of a lot of different things - you have to have open conversations, a lot of support, and highly responsive, engaging teams.”

I’m typically not a big fan of getting into jargon in order to make a point. The fact is, you’re busy running your staffing firm, and you want to understand our platform, and how it can help you grow your business.
Wow, 2019 went by in a FLASH, didn’t it? Here at Sense, we were working constantly behind the scenes, and in front -- meeting and speaking with our clients, staying on top of industry trends, and continuously working to improve and add to our robust platform.
The holidays are HERE 🦃🕎🎄
We use emojis (or emoji -- both are actually correct….let’s not get started on GIF versus JIF, though!) throughout the day. Texting family and friends. Sending emails to coworkers. And yes, in candidate and client communications.
